There are now more than 1,800 servicemen and women remembered on the Death and Service website.

Their graves are spread across 18 counties, representing more than 140 regiments. They came from all parts of Great Britain, the Empire and beyond, and each gave their life in service to King and Country.

Their lives were lost through illness, injury, drowning, suicide, and car, motorbike, and aircraft accidents. The oldest was 68 years old, while the youngest was just 15.
