Australian Engineers

With roots dating back to the 1860s, the Australian Engineers have provided military support during some of the major world conflicts. In the First World War, 40 engineering units were raised as part of the Australian Imperial Force, tasked with providing engineering, tunnelling, signalling and railway support in the Middle East, Eastern Mediterranean and on the Western Front in France and Belgium.
