Belgian Army

In 1914, the Belgian Army was made up of 37 infantry, cavalry and artillery regiments. When war broke out, the armed forces were going to through a process of restructure. When the Germany Army launched its surprise invasion, the total Belgian force comprised 117,000 servicemen, although, ultimately, this rose to 166,000 men as the conflict progressed.
