Canadian Army Veterinary Corps

Founded in 1910, the Canadian Army Veterinary Corps was set up to provide support for troops and animals serving on the Front Line and in secondary support.

By the end of the war, 130,000 horses had been transported from Canada to assist in the war effort overseas, joining Canadian, British and French army units.
