Manchester Regiment

The Manchester Regiment was created during the Childers Reforms of 1881, but, as an infantry unit, had roots dating back to the early 1800s. By the end of the First World War, the regiment had swelled to more than 40 battalions, which served on all the main fronts of the conflict.
