Scots Guards

Formed in 1805, the Scots Guards is a regiment of the Guards Division of the British Army. From its foundation, the Guards were involved in some of the fiercest fighting of the last two centuries, including the Napoleonic and Crimean Wars.

By the time of the First World War, the regiment was made of three battalions, soldiers fighting at the Somme, Ypres, Loos and Passchendaele. As the Armistice was signed, the Scots Guards had lost nearly 3000 troops.
