The Hussars

The Hussars were a number of cavalry regiments formed as long ago as the 17th century. They fought in a number of the Great War fields of battle, including in India and on the Western Front. Regiments included the 3rd (King’s Own), 4th (Queen’s Own), 7th (Queen’s Own), 8th (King’s Royal Irish), 10th (Prince of Wales’s Own Royal), 11th (Prince Albert’s Own), 13th, 14th (King’s), 15th (King’s), 18th (Queen Mary’s Own), 19th (Queen Alexandra’s Own Royal) and 20th Hussars.
