Gurkha Brigade

The formation of the Gurkha Brigade can be dated back to the early 1800s and the Anglo-Nepalese War. By the time of the First World War ten regiments had been created, with a total of 43 battalions.

Over 100,000 Gurkhas served in the British Indian Army during World War I, fighting across France, Gallipoli, the Middle East, and Mesopotamia.
